Oops. Took folic acid and mtx on same day. Options

I have just got back from the hospital where I did my 2nd Mtx injection. On the way home I suddenly remembered that I accidentally took my folic acid tablet this morning. Will this do any harm or does it just mean that the Mtx will not work properly this week? I feel such a duffer. X

Hi Naomi

We have all done something similar so if you're a duffer, we all areSmile It is always best to check with your rheummy nurse when anything happens like this but it is probably as you say, mxt might not be so effective but as it stays in your system for 6 weeks it probably doesn't matter.

hi, done same thing ages ago when i changed to inj as i didnt know she was going to do them that day i was fine and nurse said not the first to have done it, so another duffer here.dorothy

The folic acid will simply make the methotrexate less sffective ... don't worry about it. just don't make a habit of it Tongue !!
